Have you noticed a theme?
Yes there is a theme – Motherhood -
It has been the theme here ever since we found out about the upcoming movie starring Uma Thurman. We have participated in teleconferences with the Director and stars of the film and have LOVED their perspective on making movies for families and on being parents themselves.
It is just before Halloween and the teenagers have taken over the movie screens bringing huge box office numbers to those scary movies that have been strategically released to coincide with Halloween.
It is time for us moms to get out there and let the world know that we want more family movies with a fair depiction of the Motherhood experience.
Go See the Movie Motherhood and take your picture with your friends at the theater! We’ll post your picture here and post any comments you have about the movie.

are the backers of the movie “motherhood” paying you to promote their film? If they are, good for you, but you should really let your readers know the score. If they are not paying you, they should. Depending on how many hits you get each month, it should be in the thousands, no?

Hi Elizabeth,
Sorry to take so long to reply – holidays wiped us out this year…
Thanks for the question. No (sadly – I suppose) the backers of the movie “motherhood” did not pay anyone at Stayathomemom.com to promote their film. What they did do was invite us to sit in on a phone interview with the writer/director who really struck a chord with us all when she talked about the first time she saw her own 6 year old daughter walk away from her at the playground and not look back before jumping on the swings with her friends. She knew right then that her daughter didn’t need her like she used to and that everything was changing.
The kids who inspired the stayathomemom.com website just left for college this last year and so we were all a little teary on the phone call. It was a sweet moment and inspired a great connection with the movie.
Additionally, we like to promote movies written by, directed by, or otherwise produced by ( not necessarily made for ) women.
Girl Power.
